Extend the life of cut flowers by following this simple recipe. Pour 2 tablespoons of white vinegar in the vase and add 2 tablespoons of sugar. Fill with water; stir until the sugar dissolves. Arrange your flowers and enjoy! (The Vinegar inhibits mold and bacteria growth, while the sugar gives the flowers a little nutrient boost.)

I love notebooks. I use them at home and the office to keep my running list of to dos, packing lists, ideas, notes, special dates, instructions, etc. I have a drawer full of cute notebooks I’ve purchased over the years just waiting to be used. I am trying not to buy any more. However, eeBoo has the cutest notebooks ever!

The notebooks I’m using at work are almost full. Maybe I should buy these for replacements.

l’ve seen:
1) tall, good looking Russian man wearing a too short tie and a pin that reads “sounds like someone has a bad case of the Mondays”
2) angry Viet Nam vet making everyone next to him shift in their seats a little
3) ancient woman with weathered skin, wearing black sneakers with an anarchy symbol on them, spitting out her dentures into a container
Things smelled:
1) dental plaque
2) sinus infection
3) rotting horse meat
I wish the smells were as entertaining as the sites.

“The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they’ve printed.”
- Look at the list and bold those you have read.
- Italicize those you intend to read.
- Underline the books you LOVE.
- Strikethrough any books you started, but won’t finish because they just weren’t working out. It’s not you, really. It’s me.
1. Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
2. The Lord of the Rings – JRR Tolkien
3. Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte
4. Harry Potter series – JK Rowling
5. To Kill a Mockingbird – Harper Lee

Magda Trzaski. I discovered her through Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion magazine, home of all things sweet and whimsical. Go figure. Magda’s stuff is kind of dark. I would have expected to discover her through Juxtapoz.

Day 1
After three hours of sleep, and ten hours of travel time, we finally found ourselves at Hotel La Tortuga (Av. 10 at Calle 12). It’s beautiful, clean and comfortable. We checked into our room, and unpacked. Took a dip in the pool, then had fajitas for dinner in the hotel restaurant and went to bed.
